A RESOLUTION RE:- ESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR ONE (1) I1E19 HEAVY DUTY CAB AND CHASSIS FOR USE IPI THE
REFUSE DIVISIOPI OF THE DEPARIIEUT OF PUBLIC CIORKS, AND PRESCRIBING
THE CONDITIONS UPON UHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COP-11-113SIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, I�MNTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City !•Ianager be, and he is hereby
requested and directed to advertise for bids for the sale to the
City of one (1) neer heavy duty cab and chassis for use in the
Refuse Division of the Department of Public Works, having the
following specifications:
Truck manufacturers G.V.l9. Rating minimum of approximately
25,000 pounds; cab to axle dimension approximately 102 inches
with tilt type cab and reinforced frame; five speed transmission;
approximately 18,000 pounds single speed rear axle; approximately
9000 pounds front axle; approximate gross H.P. rating of 152;
equipped with mechanical tachometer R.P.iI. governor; heavy duty
cooling system; heavy duty generator; increased capacity springs;
increased capacity brakes; front end toe hooks; dual electric
r:indshield wipers; directional signals; west coast type mirrors;
heater and defroster; 10.00 x 20 - 12 ply 100 level first line tires
and tubes, front and rear, with spare mounted on cast spoke type wheels;
colors to be orange and black and put on in the manner specified by
City; lettering to be done as specified by the City. Each bidder
is to state the amount he is willing to accept for the purchase price
of said equipment, the length of time for delivery after contract
is awarded and full details as to guarantee.
SECTION 2. The City Planager shall advertise for bids by a
notice posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published once a week
for three consecutive weeks. All bids shall be sealed and no bid
shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening
of same. All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed
in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed with the Board
of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best
bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to
reject any and all bids and the City shall not become legally
obligated to purchase said equipment until the adoption of an
ordinance authorizing the execution of a purchase contract.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and a iffier its adoption.
