A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF ONE MOTOR GRADER FOR USE IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT, AND
PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested
and directed to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of one (1)
new motor grader having the following specifications:
Current Manufacturer Tandem;Drive Motor Grader
Approximately 50 to 75 H. P. Diesel Engine
Combination Manual and Power Steering with Hydraulic Booster
Leaning Front Wheels
Hydraulic Shiftable Moldboard
Preferably all controls hydraulic operated by hand levers in cab
Deluxe cab with safety glass, heater and windshield wipers
Hydraulic brakes, also emergency or parking brakes
Electric starter, hour meter, generator, muffler
Adjustable lights on each side of cab front
Front and rear tires 10.00 x 24 - 8 ply - 100 level first line,
earth moving, low pressure tires and tubes
Operating and parts manual to be delivered with equipment
Colors to be specified.
Each bidder is to state the amount he is willing to accept for the
purchase price of said equipment; the amount he will allow as a credit on
the purchase price as trade-in on one (1) used Adams Motor Grader, Model
No. 312, Serial N6. 2369; the length of time required for delivery after
contract is awarded; and if requested, must demonstrate similar equipment
as that upon which he is bidding.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted
at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in
the Sun Democrat to be published once a week for three consecutive weeks.
All bids shall be sealed and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed
in the notice for the opening of same. All bids received by the City Manage
up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of same shall be filed wi
the Board of Commissioners who may let a contract to the lowest and best
bidder, and the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject
any and all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase
said equipment until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution
of a purchase contract.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
