A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO (2) DUMP TRUCKS FOR USE IN THE PUBLIC
WORKS DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRESCRIBING
THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE 14ADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COM'iISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
requested and authorized to advertise for bids for the sale to the
City of Paducah, Kentucky of Two (2) dump trucks for use in the
Public Works Department of said City, having the following minimum
specifications:
Heavy duty cab and chassis. Nominal rating of two (2) tons.
Manufacturerts G.V.W. rating approximately 18,000 pounds. Motor
approximately 148 gross horsepower rating. Single speed rear axle.
Approximately 15,000 pounds rating. Wheel base, approximately 135 inches
with approximately 60 inches from back of rear cab to center of rear axle.
Equipped with directional lights, dual windshield wipers,
sideview morrors, heater and defroster, front end tow hooks..
Hydraulic brakes, auxiliary rear springs with build-up kits, bed
approximately 62 x 8 feet - 3 cu. yd. with 4 yard ends. Heavy duty
cooling system. 900 x 20 first line 100 level tires and tubes front
and rear dual with spare mounted. Colors orange and black to be
specified by City.
Each bidder is to state the amount he is willing to accept
in cash for the purchase price of said trucks bid upon by him, and
shall state the length of time required for delivery after contract
is awarded.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a
notice posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in the Sun Democrat to be published once a week for
three consecutive weeks. All bids shall be sealed and nobid shall
be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of same.
All bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the
notice for the opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commiss-
ioners who may let the contract to the lowest and best bidder, and
the Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and
all bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase
said trucks until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution
of a purchase contract.

SECTION 3. This Resolution thall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
