A RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO THE REAPPRAISAL PROJECT, THE BOARD
OF EQUALIZATION OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IENTUCKY, AND THE STATE DEPARTI-ENT
OF REVENUE
I'MREAS, the City of Paducah and the Department of Revenue
of the State of Kentucky are now bound by contract for the purpose
of reappraising for assessment purposes real property in the City of
Paducah, and
WHEREAS, the City has expended in excess of ,r1$,000 for this
program, and
111HEREAS, this Board of Commissioners recognizes the value to
the citizens of Paducah for an equitable assessment of property within
the city, and
111HEREAS, this project has been nearly completed by the appraisers
and by the Board of Equalization, and
WHEREAS, appeals may be filed with the Court from the ruling
of the Board of equalization on said appraisals and assessments.
NUN THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C0114ISSIO1,IERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENITUCKY:
SECTION 1. That this Board of Commissioners
1. Acknowledges the basic need for the equity of this project
and thereby endorses it.
2. ;dill, where necessary and where justice demands, defend
against and prosecute to the fullest any appeals filedthereon.
3. Requests the State Department of Revenue, Valuation Division,
to help in the handling of said appeals by furnishing to the City
of Paducah necessary technical personnel such as Engineers, appraisers
and Attorneys, if necessary.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
