AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE APPORTIW1 ENT OF THE PUBLIC FUNDS OF
TIME CITY OF PADUCAH, IENTUCKY, FOR TIME YEAR 1957 AND APPROPRIATING
THE PUBLIC REVENUE AND INCOME OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR SUCH
PURPOSES
WHEREAS, the City Manager in his budget for the year 1957
anticipated the receive of total revenue in the sum of .,;1,651,950.56,
and
WHEREAS, it appears that the anticipated revenue .for the year
1957 will exceed said sum in the amount of ;?33,744.96, making the
total anticipated revenue for the year 1957 the sum of 21,685,695.52.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF
THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. The public funds and revenue of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, for the year 1957, for the definite purposes and under the
definite heads, departments, offices and divisions, pursuant to a
budget prepared and submitted by the City Iianager to the Board of
Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky shall be apportioned
and appropriated as follows, to -wit:

SECTION 2. The apportionment and appropriation of the
public funds and revenues of the City of Paducah for the year 1957,
pursuant to the budget adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Paducah and the levy made to meet the requirements of said
Board under said budget, as well as the rates of other levies as
approved and established by the Board of Commissioners of said City,
and to that extent only, shall be added to and included in the tax
bills for said year, and shall be collected by the City Treasurer and
accounted for as collected, and as required by law to be accounted for
to the Board of Education of said city, except that so much of said
taxes as are levied and collected for interest and sinking fund purposes
and for the payment of school improvement bonds shall be retained by the
City Treasurer and apportioned and applied to said accounts; and provided
further that the levy for the benefit of the Paducah Junior College shall
be paid by said City to the Treasurer of said college, and the levy for
the benefit of the Public Library shall be paid by said City to the
Board of Trustees of the Public Library.
SECTION 3. That on or about the 15th day of December, 1957,
an approximate estimate shall be made of the amount necessary to pay
maturing claims until the first day of January, 1958, and all amounts
in excess of said actual needs shall be converted into the General
Fund of the City for the purpose of taking up and discharging obliga-
tions of the City.
SECTION 4. The provisions of this ordinance are severable.
If any provision, section, paragraph, sentence or part thereof shall
be held unvalid, such decision shall not affect or impair the remainder
of the ordinance, it being the legislative intent to ordain and enact
each provision, paragraph, sentence and part thereof, separately and
independent of each other.
SECTION 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 6. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on
file for public inspection at least one (1) week in the completed form
in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and said ordinance

shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days after its adoption.
