HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 771, No Ordinance Number771 / API ORDIHAP?CE PRESCRIBING AND SETTING FORTH CERTAIN FEED ROUTES IPI AND THROUGH THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO BE USED BY PADUCAH AUTO RENTAL AGENCY IN TRANSPORTING UNITED STATES MAIL, AIRLIPiE PASSENGERS AN THEIR BAGGAGE FOR HIRE BET7JEEN POINTS IPI THE CITY AMID BARKLEY FIELD AIRPORT; AND PRESCRIBING AND PROVIDIIIG PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF 1,1HEREAS, it appears that Paducah Auto Rental Agency, a firm composed of C. L. Bryan, Helen Bryan, V. D. Chandler and Charles Chandler, is the owner of an Airport Limousine Certificate issued by the Department of Pdotor Transportation of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and WHEREAS, an Airport Limousine Certificate is defined under IR3 281.010 (21) (a) as follows: "An 'airport limousine certificate? means a certificate granting authority only for the operation of motor vehicles exclusively transporting passengers or baggage for hire over regular routes between points within a city or its suburban area and an airport", and WHEREAS, it appears the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by and through its legislative body, is vested with the authority to pre- scribe the route to be used in the city by such certificate holders. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF C0161IISSIOIQERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IENTUCKY: SECTIO'? 1. The routes to be used within the City of Paducah, Kentucky by Paducah Auto Rental Agency in operating airport limousines for transporting United States mail, airline passengers and their baggage for hire between points within the city to and from Barkley Field airport, are hereby prescribed, designated and set forth as follows: For trips to Barkley Field the limousine or limousines will leave the garage or office of Paducah Auto Rental Agency at 207 South 5th Street; then proceed north on 5th Street to the United States Post Office for picking up air mail; thence north on 5th Street to Jefferson Street; then proceed west of Jefferson Street to 6th Street; then proceed south on 6th Stfeet to Hotel Irvin Cobb for picking up airline passengers; then proceed south on 6th Street to Kentucky Avenue; then proceed west on Kentucky Avenue to 7th Street; then proceed north on 7th Street to Jefferson Street; then proceed west on Jefferson Street to 28th Street or Joe Clifton Drive; then proceed north on 28th Street or Joe Clifton Drive to U. S. Highway 60; then proceed west on U. S. Highway 60 toward Barkley Airport to the city limits line. 772 For trips from Barkley Airport to points irithin the City, such limousine or limousines shall proceed from the city limits line on U. S. Highway 60 to 28th Street or Joe Clifton Drive; then proceed south on 28th Street or Joe Clifton Drive to Broadway; then proceed east on Broadway to Hotel Irvin Cobb for discharging airline passengers; then proceed east on Broadway to 5th Street; then proceed north on 5th Street to United States Post Office to discharge mail; then proceed south on 5th Street to such garage or office at 207 South 5th Street. No other stops are to be made by such limousine or limousines except as follows: (a) Picking up airline passengers by request from Hotel Palmer, Hotel Oxford or Ritz Motel. (b) Delivering airline passengers from Barkley Field by request to any of the hotels mentioned in the preceeding subsection. (c) Delivering airline passengers from Barkley Field by request to any point on the return route set out and described above. SECTION 2. Any violation of any provision of this ordinance is hereby declared to be a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof any person, persons or firm violating same shall be fined not less than :,15.00, nor more than ;}25.00 for each offense. SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict hereirith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed. SECTION 4.
