A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE 23RD DAY OF JUNE IPI EACH
YEAR AS "IRVIN S. COBB DAY" IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IENTUCKY
VMEREAS, Irvin S. Cobb, the well known novelist and
humorist, was born in Paducah, Kentucky on June 23rd, 1876,
and
WHEREAS, this famous native son spent a large part of his
life writing about his home town of Paducah.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COM,11ISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF.PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the 23rd day of June in each and every
year is hereby designated as "Irvin S. Cobb Day" in Paducah,
Kentucky for the purpose of perpetuating his memory.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to enter this Resolution upon the official records of the City
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
