A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR
BIDS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH ITS RE.-)UIREMSHTS OF
REGULAR AND ETHYL GASOLINE, MOTOR OIL, DIESEL FUAL, CHASSIS LUBRICANT,
GEAR LUBE OIL, I[YDRAULIC OIL, i'EROSEHE AIfD ANTI -FREEZE TO BE USED BY
THE CITY OF PADUCAH FRO11 JULY 1, 1957 TO DECZ.;BE 51, 1957
BE I^1 RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COi-J` SSIONZRS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTIOid 1. That the City I-Yanager be, and he is hereby, authorized
to advertise for bids for furnishing the city of Paducah with its re-
quirements of Regular and Ethyl gasoline, motor oil, diesel fuel,
chassis lubricant, gear lube oil, hydraulic oil, kerosene and anti-
freeze for the period beginning July 1, 1957, or as soon thereafter
as possible, and extending to and including December 31, 1957, at the
lowest cash price per unit, unit price to include State Tac, but
exclusive of Federal Tax, in accordance with all terms and specifications
listed herein.
Each bidder must guarantee that the Regular and Ethyl gasoline
he proposes to supply will be equal to or exceed 90 octane and 97
octane, respectively, the price to be listed as the prevailing tank
wagon prices, Plus or minus; motor oil to be detergent heavy duty,
premium (not to be a fleet oil) and first grade, and first grade non -
detergent (requirements approximately 300 gallons of each per 6 -month
period); diesel, high detergent motor oil (requirements approximately
200 gallons per 6 -month period); diesel fuel to be No. 2 (requirements
approximately 3,000 gallons per 6 -month period); chassis lubricant to
be all-purpose (requirements approximately 100 pounds Per 6 -month
period); gear lube oil to be 140 and 90 weight (requirements approx-
imately 600 pounds per 6 -month period; Kerosene (requirements approx-
imately 3,000 gallons per 6 -month period); anti -freeze to be permanent
type (requirements approximately 100 gallons per 6 -month period).
The requirements for Regular gasoline will be approximately
29,000 gallons per 6 -month period and for Ethyl gasoline approximately
27,000 gallons per 6 -month period.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish and install
three (3) electrically operated and metered gasoline pumps, necessary
tanks and required concrete islands and will be required to furnish
one (1) electrically operated and metered diesel Pump and underground tank.
In the event bids are awarded to more than one bidder the successful
bidder for Ethyl gasoline will be required to furnish two (2) pumps,
tanks and islands; and the successful bidder to -the Regular Gasoline
shall be required to furnish one (1) pump, tank and island; and the

successful bidder for the diesel fuel shall be required to furnish
one (1) pump and tank.
Bids shall provide a guarantee against advance in the bid price
and shall also guarantee a corresponding reduction in price in the
event of a decrease in the market price of any of the items bid on.
The bidder will so state in his bid that he agrees to give 24-hour
emergency tank truck service to any point in the City of Paducah, Kentucky.
The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, or any part
thereof, the City reserving the right to place the contract on the most
favorable basis.
SECTIOPJ 2. The City Idanager shall advertise for sealed bids by
posting a notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice
shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the
opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from
the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received
after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids
received by the City 14anat,er up to the time fixed in the notice for the
opening of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may
let the bid to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders. All bids
shall be on a unit price.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
