A RESOLUTION RE?UESTING THE CITY Mhi,1AGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF ^1:90 (2) DUMP TRUCKS, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDI`.CIONS
UPON WHICII SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE Pv!ADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY TIME BOARD OF COi'+IIIISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Alana,,er be, and he is hereby, requested
and directed to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah,
Kentucky of two (2) New Dump Trucks with the following minimum
specifications:
Heavy duty cab and chassis. Pominal rating of two (2)
tons. Manufacturer's G.V.W. rating 18,000 pounds.
Motor 148 gross horsepower rating. Single speed rear
a_:le, 15,000 pounds rating. i,lheel base approximately
135 inches with 60 inches from back of rear cab to center
of rear a5c1e.
Equipped with directional lights, dual windshield snipers,
sideview mirror, heater and defroster, front end torr hooks.
Hydraulic brakes, auxiliary rear springs with build-up kits,
bed bl x 8 feet - 3 cu, yd, with 4 yard ends. Heavy duty
cooling system.
900 x 20 first line 100 level tires and tubes front and
rear dual with spare mounted.
Painting to be specified.
Each bidder is to state the amount he will accept in cash for
the purchase price of the two dump trucks he offers for sale, and also
the amount of the purchase price for same by accepting as trade-in
two (2) International K -5H 1941 dump trucks now being used by the
Public Vlorks Department of the City. Each bidder is to state in his
bid the complete specifications of the dump trucks set out in his bid
and the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded.
SECTION 2. The City Eanager shall advertise for bids by a notice
posted up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the
request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun Democrat. The
notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to
the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days
from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall
be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after
the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids
received by the City Tanager up to the time fixed in the notice
shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the
contract to the lowest and best responsible bidder. The Board of
Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids
and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said
trucks until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the e:.ecution
of a contract.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
