AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE DEDICATION OF A NEW PUB-
LIC ALLEY WHICH EXTENDS FROM BROADWAY AT RIGHT ANGLES TO KEN-
TUCKY AVENUE FROM A POINT 6$2.6 FEET EAST OF THE SOUTHEASTERLY
CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF BROADWAY AND SOUTH 16TH STREET,
AND OPENING SAID ALLEY AND CONFIRMING THE DEDICATION OF BROAD-
WAY, SOUTH 16TH STREET AND KENTUCKY AVENUE TO THE PROPERTY
LINES OF. EMORY WILLIAMS, ALL DONE ACCORDING TO A PLAT APPROVED
BY THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMPIISSION OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH
ON JANUARY 23, 1957, ENTITLED, "PLAT OF RESUBDIVISION OF LAND
FOR SEARS, ROEBUCK AND CO. IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
BETWEEN BROADWAY AND KENTUCKY AVENUE EAST OF 16TH STREET", AND
PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF SAID NEW PUBLIC ALLEY
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COM-
MISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KE NTUCKY:
Section 1: The City of Paducah does hereby accept
the dedication to public use as an alley and does hereby open
asa public alley that certain parcel of land located in Paducah,
McCracken County, Kentucky which is bounded and described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the southerly
property line of Broadway 6$2.6 feet
east of the southeasterly corner of
the intersection of Broadway and South
16th Street; thence at an angle of 90
degrees to Broadway 356 feet to the north-
erly property line of Kentucky Avenue;
thence to the left at an angle of 90
degrees with the northerly property
line of Kentucky Avenue a distance
of 25 feet; thence to the left at an
angle of 90 degrees a distance of 170
feet; thence to the right at an angle
Of 90 degrees a distance of 5 feet;
thence to the left at an angle of 90
degrees a distance of 21 feet; thence
to the left at an angle of 90 degrees
a distance of 5 feet; thence to the
right at an angle of 90 degrees a
distance of 165 feet to the southerly
property line of Broadway; thence
to the left at an angle of 90 degrees
with the southerly property line of
Broadway a distance of 25 feet to the
point of beginning.
Section 2: The City of Paducah does hereby direct
that the alley described in Section 1, above, be improved with
a concrete surface and storm sewer drainage system according to
plans and specifications entitled "Retail Store for Sears, Roe-
buck and Co., Paducah, Kentucky, Job No. 42-35611, dated Janu-
ary 2, 1957, with accompanying drawings, as modified by Bulletin
No. 1, dated January 23, 1957, with accompanying drawings, all
prepared by A. L. Aydelott & Associates, Architects, which plans
are now on file in the office of the City Engineer.
Section 3: The City of Paducah does hereby accept
the offer of Sears, Roebuck and Co., made by letter dated Jan-
uary 25, 1957, to improve said alley according to plans and
specifications referred to in Section 2, above, within one year
after enactment of this ordinance, at no expense to the City of
Paducah; and this ordinance is hereby enacted in reliance on
said offer and in consideration thereof.

Section 4: The City of Paducah does hereby accept
and confirm the dedication of Broadway, South•16th Street and
Kentucky Avenue, and declare said streets to be open to the
property lines of Emory Williams as shown on the plat approved
by the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Paducah
. on January 23, 1957, entitled, "Plat of Resubdivision of Land
for Sears, Roebuck and Co. in the City of Paducah, Kentucky
Between Broadway and Kentucky Avenue East of 16th Street".
Section 5: The City of Paducah does hereby acknowledge f
delivery of a deed dated January 26, 1957, from Emory Williams
and wife, Janet A. Williams, to the City of Paducah, which dedi-
cated said alley and streets to public use, as contemplated by
the plat referred to above; and the City Clerk is hereby direct-
ed to deliver said deed and plat to the Clerk of the McCracken
County Court for record.
Section 6: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
