HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 640, No Ordinance Number640 /� AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT Ir7ITH SINCLAIR REFINING COA•4PANY FOR THE PURCHASE OF ALL REGULAR AND ETHYL GAS MOTOR OIL, DIESEL FUEL, CHASSIS LUBRICANT, GEAR LUBE OIL, HYDRAULIC OIL, KEROSENE AND ANTI -FREEZE FOR USE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY FOR THE PERIOD OF TIME FROM JANUARY 1, 1957 TO JUNE 30, 1957, AND PRESCRIBIAIG THE TERI.43 AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASES SHALL BE MADE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to Enter into a contract on behalf of the City of Paducah with Sinclair Refining Company for the purchase of all Regular gasoline and Ethyl gasoline at the established tank wagon price at time of delivery less Federal Tax and less discount of 0.02 per gallon; in no event is 'the net price of Regular gasoline to exceed 0.234 per gallon less the above discount of 0.02 pe gallon, and in no event shall the net price of Ethyl gasoline exceed 0.269 I per gallon less said discount; the octane rating of Regular gasoline to be not less than 90 and the octane rating of Ethyl gasoline to be not less than 97; motor oils as follows: Best premium grade, detergent H -D, in 55 -gallon drums,, at 0.69 per gallon; First grade, non -detergent at 0.42 per gallon; First grade., I detergent H -D at 0.4$ per gallon; Diesel, high detergent at 0.60 per gallon; Hydraulic oil at 0.46 per gallon; greases as follows: Chassis lubricant, -120 pound drums, at 0.20 per pound less discount of O.O.l25i all purpose, in 100 per pound; Gear lube oil, weight 140 and 90 in 100-120 pound drums, at 0.15 i per pound less discount of 0.0125 per pound; Diesel fuel at the present tank i wagon price of 0.145 ger gallon less discount of 0.015 per Fallon; kerosene at 0.151 per gallon less discount of 0.01 per gallon; and anti -freeze, in cases of six 1 -gallon cans, at 2.17 per gallon, anti -freeze to be permanent type. All products furnished to the City will be paid for on or about the 10th day of the month following the purchase and the City is to have a to cash discount in 10 days on all lube oils, greases and gear lubricants and a 2% cash discount in 10 days on anti -freeze and is not to be required to make deposits on drums if drums are returned within 90 days. All prices are to be guaranteed against advance and the City is to receive the benefit of any price reduction. The Company will furnish and install three electrically operated and metered gasoline pumps, necessary tanks and concrete islands and will furnish 641 one electrically operated and metered diesel pump and unde.rpround tank. In the event of fire or other emergencies, the Company shall agree to give 24-hour emergency tank truck service to any point in the City, seven days per week. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one (1) week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
