HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 13, Page 63, No Resolution Number63 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY I.4ANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO MIEW FIVE -PASSENGER, FOUR -DOOR AUTOMOBILES FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, ANTI) PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASES SHALL BE MADE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COIAKTSSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of two new five - passenger, four -door automobiles, black color, having a minimum horsepower rating of 100, to be used in the Police Department of the City of Paducah. Said automobiles to be equipped with heavy duty springs, clutch, generator and heavy duty seat springs, also heater, oil bath, air cleaner and purilator. Directional signals shall be included. Each bidder is to state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase price of the automobiles he offers for sale and also the amount he will allow on the purchase price as a trade-in value on one 1953 Plymouth Sedan, Model No. P24-1 and one 1951 Plymouth Sedan, Model No. P23, both in a damaged condition. Each bidder is to state the length of time required for delivery after a contract is awarded. SECTIOIJ 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one issur of the Sun -Democrat. The norice shall be posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Tanager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed vrLt. the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder.. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and al bids and the city shall not become legally obligated to purchase said automobiles until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract. SECTION 3.
