A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF 150 PARKING METERS;
PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE CONTRACT TO PURCHASE
AND THE MANNER IN WHICH BIDS SHALL BE SUBMITTED
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and requested to advertise for bids for the purchase of
50 automatic parking meters, heads only, to be installed on the
streets where parking meters are authorized, which shall be operated
so as to permit parking for a period of 12 minutes for 1;: deposited,
the meter heads to be brown in color and to be so constructed as to
allow a total legal parking time of 12 minutes; and also for the
purchase of 100 automatic parking meters, heads only, to be installed
on the streets where parking meters are authorized, each of said
meters to be colored silver or aluminum and to be so constructed as to
allow a total legal parking time of 2 hours in periods of 12 minutes
for each l¢ deposited and 1 hour for each 5¢ deposited. One-half
of the receipts from,the operation of.said parking meters shall be
paid monthly to the successful bidder until the entire purchase price
has been paid, and each bidder shall state the amount he will allow
for trade-in of 100 used Mi -Co 2 -hour meters upon the aforesaid 100
2 -hour meters. Each bidder shall also state the date of delivery
of said meters.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for the purchase
of said meters by posting up a notice at the City Hall door and by
inserting notice of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue
of the Sun Democrat, the notice shall be posted and published for at
least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and the bids shall
not be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this:
resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received unless under seal,
and no bid shall be received after the hour fixed in the notice
for the opening of bids. All bids received by the City Manager
up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall
be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract
to the lowest responsible bidder. The right to reject any and
all bids is reserved, the City of Paducah shall not become
legally obligated to purchase said meters until the adoption of an
ordinance authorizing the execution of the contract.

SECTION 3. This,Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
