A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY IL'iANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE FREIGHT -TYPE VAN DUMP TRUCK FOR USE BY THE
REFUSE DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
to advertise for bids for the purchase by the City of Paducah, Kentucky,
of one (1) freight -type van dump truck with the following chassis and
body specifications:
Chassis:
1. The chassis to have a minimum cab to rear axle (CA) dimension
of 102 inches.
2. The minimum rear axle capacity is to be 16,000 pounds.
3. All standard equipment to be listed and to include directional
signal lights, spare tire and tube and two side view mibrors.
4. Chassis to be equipped with 825 x 20, 10 ply, first line, 100
level truck tires, duals in rear.
5. Chassis to have two (2) speed rear axle and four (4) speed
forward transmission.
6. Earliest reliable delivery date to be stated, with delivery to
be made by successful bidder to the assembly point of the success-
ful body bidder.
7. Basic bid to be made on conventional type chassis with an alternate
bid to be included.
Body:
1. The body is to be a freight type van and is to be constructed
of high grade steel, must be well reinforced, and is to have
steel cross members and longitudinal body sills.
2. The body length is to be fourteen (14) feet and of normal width.
3. To be equipped with a hydraulic hoist for raising and lowering
of body with a minimum hoist capacity of eight (8) tons.
4. Hoist is to give the body a standard dump angle of 450.
5. Chassis for mounting of body (if furnished by others) will be
delivered to the assembly point of successful body bidder. Earliest
reliable delivery date after receipt of chassis must be stated.
Separate bids may be made for the chassis and body. Each bidder must
furnish full and complete information and specifications on his products
including any and all guarantees.
00 The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, the city reserving
the right to place the contract on the most favorable basis.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a
notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for
bids in at least one issue of the Sun Democrat. The notice shall be posted

and published at least 7 days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall
be opened within 10 days from the date on which this resolution is adopted.
All bids shall be sealed and no bid will be received after the hour
fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the
City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the
Board of Commissioners who may then let the contract.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
