AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 12 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED:
"AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, PRESCRIBING THE
QUALIFICATIONS, POWERS AND DUTIES AND FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF
THE MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY
CLAUSE, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH", WHICH
WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON JANUARY 7, 1947•
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 12 of an ordinance containing the title
quoted above, which was adopted on January 7, 1947, be, and the same
is hereby, amended and reordained so that said Section as amended and
reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION TWELVE Wearing Apparel
All members of the police department excepting those assigned to
duty as detectives shall wear the standard uniform,.which shall be the
same as worn by members of the department and which shall consist of a
standard uniform cap, standard navy blue coat and trousers, black shoes,
standard blue shirt, black tie and Sam Browne belt. The above shall
constitute the standard winter uniform. The standard summer uniform shall
consist of the above with the exception of the uniform coat, and with the
further exception of a standard cap, part of which may be made of white
material and such other modifications in weight and quality as may be
deemed to the best -interest of the department and the comfort and con-
venienve of the members thereof, and to be determined by the Chief of
Police with the approval of the City Manager. The wearing of uniforms
by detectives shall be under the control and direction of the Chief of
Police and the City Manager."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTIONS This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
