A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF TWO (2) NEW PANEL TRUCI.S FOR USE IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND
PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF C015-HLSSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCP.Y:
. SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized to adver-
tise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of Two (2) new 1956 Panel Truckt,
color to be selected by the City Tanager, being a one-half ton or larger, 4aving a
minimum horsepower rating of 130, to be used by the Police -Department of the City
of Paducah. Said trucks to have a minimum panel area length of 7.5 feet, to be
equipped with heavy duty springs, heavy duty clutch, two generators installed,
(one 6 -volt, 45 amp. generator, one 12 -volt, 60 amp. generator) installation of
which is to be supervised by the City; heavy duty seat springs, deluxe heater, of
bath, air cleaner purilator, directional signals, spot light, standard first line
4 -ply tires with tubes, twin seats in cab, imitation leather or plastic seat covets,
standard shift transmission, two external rear view mirrors, double doors at rear)
to open outward, one heavy duty 6 -volt battery, one heavy duty 12 -volt battery,
each side and the rear of the truck to be inscribed with "City of Paducah Police
Department"using letters three inches in height.
Each bidder is to state the amount he will accept in cash for the purchase
price of the panel trucks,he offers for sale, and shall also state the length of
time required for delivery after a contract is awarded.
SECTION 2. The City iiar_ager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted up
at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at least
one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at least
seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten
(10) days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be
received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids
received by the City Kanager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening.

The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all
bids and the City shall not become legally obligated to purchase said automobiles
until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
