BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD Or COI-KISSIOMRS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTIOU 1. That Section 16-A be added to the ordinance
having the above quoted title, which was adopted by the Board of
Commissioners on January 7, 1947, and which Section 16-A shall
read as follows:
°SECTION 16-A. The City iianager and Chief of Police are hereby
authorized and directed to institute and maintain an in-service
personnel training course for all members of the Police Department.
The City ',anager shall appoint a member of the police department as
the Director of all training activities, and the Director'so appointed
shall furnish a written report on all training activities to the Cit_
Kanager and Chief of Police once every three (3) months. The Chief
of Police shall select instructors with the approval of the City i:ana ar.
The time and length of class periods shall be determined by the Ci'cy
1,1anager and Chief of Police who shall arrange same so that all or as
many as possible of the members of the department can attend classes
on their off duty time, and each member shall be granted tine off
equal to the time spent in class as a student or as an instructor
while off duty. Participation in the training course shall be mandatcry
and each member of the department shall attend all classes to which
he is assigned unless excused in writing by the Chief o: Police or City
i4anager. The duties of the Director in connection with the herein
training course shall be in addition to his regular duties asla me>.noer
of the police department."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after I;arch 1, 1956•
