A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE
FOR BIDS FOR FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH ITS REQUIRE1,1ENT
OF MOTOR VEHICLE TIRES FOR THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY
DURING THE YEAR 1956
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COT-WaSSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized to advertise for bids for furnishing the City of Paducah
with its 1956 requirement of motor vehicle tires to be used by the
police department, fire department, depsrtment of public works,
maintenance department, inspection department, engineering depart-
ment, floodwall department and cemetery department.
.Each bidder must state the lowest cash price for each grade
and size of tires included in his bid, and shall guarantee against
any advance in price and shall also guarantee any benefit due to
a decrease in the market price of any of the tires bid on.
The right is reserved to reject any and all bids or any part
thereof, the city reserving the right to place the contract on the
most favorable basis.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for sealed bids
by posting anotice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice
of the request for bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat.
The notice shall be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior
to the opening of bids and no bid shall beopened wit#in ten (10) days
from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be
received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids.
All bids shall be executed on the bid forms with specifications as
prepared by the City Manager. All bids received by the City I•Ianager
up to the time fixed in thenotice for the opening of same shall be
filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the bid to the lowest
responsible bidder or bidders.
SECTIOb 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
