A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR
THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) ASPHALT MIXER AND CERTAIN ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT, AND
PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS TO BE COMPLIED WITH BY BIDDERS
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to
advertise for sealed bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of the following
items:
One (1) Asphalt Mixer, with rated capacity 20 to
60 tons per hour, portable unit with 4? steam
jacketed twin shaft pugmill;
One (1) 14" x 1$T Truck Loading Conveyor to be mounted on
and driven from mixer, complete with hot material
belt and A frame ground support;
One (1) Aggregate dryer, rated capacity 30 to 45 tons per
hour, with one dust collector to be permanently
mounted on same;
One (1) Reciprocating Feeder, 1$11 wide z 4' long complete
with divider and dual control gates with feeder
housing and bulkhead plate to mount over the
feeder;
One (1) Asphalt finisher for normal applications, ll?,
with screed heater power hydraulic hoist, syn-
chronized standard tamper bars, cut-off plates,
45 HP, 4 cylinder gasoline engine with starter.
Each bidder shall state the amount acceptable in payment of the full
purchase price for each item in cash, and also the amount he will accept in
payment of rental option. Each bidder shall submit a complete description
of the equipment he proposes to sell, containing full and detained specifica-
tions and guarantees, and shall state the approximate time required for
delivery f.o.b. Paducah, Kentucky.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice
posted at the city hall door and by inserting a notice of the request for bids
in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and
published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bid
shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date on which this Resolution
is adopted. No bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid
be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All
bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall
be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the
lowest and best responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve
the right to reject any and all bids and the City of Paducah shall not be
legally obligated to purchase any of the items described herein until the
adoption of an ordinance providing for such purchase and authorizing the
execution of a contract.

SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
