A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR
FURNISHING THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH ITS REQUIREMENTS OF REGULAR AND ETHYIL
GASOLINE, DIESEL FUEL, MOTOR OIL, CHASSIS LUBRICANT, GEAR LUBE OIL AND ANTI-
FREEZE TO BE USED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR THE REMAINDER OF 1954.
KENTUCKY:
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized
to advertise for bids for furnishing; the City of Paducah with its requirements
of Regular and Ethyl gasoline, diesel fuel, motor oil, chassis lubricant, gear
lube oil and anti -freeze for the period beginning April 1, 1954 or as soon
thereafter as possible, and extending to and including December 31, 1954, at
the lowest cash price per unit, unit price to include State tax, but exclusive
of Federal tax, in accordance with all terms and specifications listed herein.
Each bidder must guarantee that the Regular and Ethyl gasoline he
proposes to supply will be equal to or exceed 84 octane and 90 octane
respectively (requirements approximately 6,000 gallons per month), The price
to be listed as the prevailing tank wagon prices plus or minus; motor oil
to be detergent heavy duty, premium and first grade (requirements approximately
110 gallons per month); diesel fuel to be No. 2 (requirements approximately
2,000 gallons per month);chassis lubricant to be all-purpose (requirements
approximately 200 pounds per month); gear lube oil to be 140 weight and 90
weight (requirements approximately 25 pounds of each per month); and anti -freeze
to be permanent type (requirements approximately 150 gallons for year).
Bidders are galso asked to include in their bids the furnishing and
installation of three electrically operated and metered gasoline pumps,
necessary tanks, and required concrete islands; furnishing of one electrically
operated and metered diesel pump and underground tank.
In the event bidders do not elect to include all of the additional
specified services it is requested that the specific services included in bid
be listed.
Bids shall provide a guarantee against advance in the bid price, and
shall also guarantee a corresponding reduction in price in the event of a
in the market price of any of the items bid on.
The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, or any part thereof,
the City reserving the right to place the contract on the most favorable
basis.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by posting a
notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in
at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published
at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened
within ten days from the date on whi(h this resolution is adopted. No bid shall

be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All
bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the open
of bids shall be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the bid to
the lowest responsible bidder or bidders. The right shall be reserved to reject
any and all bids, and all bids shall provide a guarantee against advance in the
market price, and also a reduction in price in the event of a decline in the
market price. All bids shall be on a unit price.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in Full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
