A RESOLUTION REQUESTING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY 1•iAIIAGER TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE CROSS CREEK BRIDGE AND
THE STEEL COLUTINS SUPPORTING SAME AND FOR THE SALE OF THE MATERIAL
SALVAGED THEREFROM AND PRESCRIBING THE TERidS AND CONDITIONS AND TIM
MANNER IN WHICH BIDS SHALL BE ADVERTISED FOR AND RECEIVED
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COPIJISSIOITERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, IENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
requested and authorized to advertise for bids for the removal of
the Gross Creek Bridge and the steel columns supportir_p same.
Each bidder shall state the amount for which he infill remove said
bridge and columns, and will also state what amount he i=rill pay
t"o the city for the material salvaged therefrom.
the bridge and columns shall be -removed completely* from the
site within 60 days after a contract is awarded the successful
bidder. The steel coluamhs shall be cut off at the ground level or
pier level, tihichever is higher. The successful bidder shall execute
a performance bond in an amount not less than the estimated cost
of the removal, and in addition shall keep in full force and effect
liability insurance to protect the city from any person or persons
or property of persons in the following amounts:
?10,000 for personal injury or death to any one person
.20,000 for personal injury or death to more than one person
resulting from the same accident, and
,r 5,000 dans;e to property in any one accident, including
damage to property owhed by the City.
SEC^ION 2. The City1-tanager shall advertise for bids by a notico
posted at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for
bids in at least one (1) issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall
be posted and published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening
of bids, and no bid shall be opened within ten (10) days from the date
on ilii ch this Resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received unless
under seal nor shall any bid be received by the City Manager after
the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids
received by the City lana_-er up to the time fixed in the notice
shall be filed with the Board of Comniissi one rs who may let tile
contract to the highest and best bidder. The Boqrd of Corrraissioners
shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids and the City
shall not become legally obligated to any bidder until the pi

SECTIOP! 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
