PLANNING AND ZONING COI'I•IISSION RESPECTING THE AI'IDNDi<MT OF SECTIONS
20-A-3, 21-A-3, 21-4-4., 21-A-5 AND 22-A-8 OF THE PADUCAH ZOi?ING
ORDINANCE AMID MANEDING SAID SECTIONS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COI•H,-ZSSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That a Resolution adopted by the Paducah
Planning and Zoning Commission on July 20, 1955, entitled: 11A RESOLU-
TION CONSTITUTING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE PADUCAH PLANNING AND ZONING
COMMISSION ON THE PROPOSED AI0IDDE T OF SECTIONS 20-A-3, 21-A-3,
21-A-4, 21-A-5 and 22-A-8 OF THE PADUCAH ZONING ORDINANCE", be ap-
proved as the final report of said Commission respecting the matters
set forth therein.
SECTION 2_ That Section 20-A-3 of the Paducah Zoning Ord-
inance (Ordinance Book, 12, page 709) be, and it is hereby, amended
so that in its amended state, it iri.11 read as follovas:
"3. TThe Folloid Usns - Provided they are conducted

The above specified stores, shops or business shall
be retail establishments selling new merchandise
exclusively.
All products shall be sold at retail on the pre-
mises and not more than four persons shall be em -
gaged exclusively in the process of production.1f
SEC1^IOPI 3. That Section 21-A-3 of said Ordinance, be, and
it is hereby, amended so that in its amended state it will read as
follows :
"3. Any Use Permitted in the B-1 Neighborhood Business
Zone - Prorided that B-1 uses shall be subject to

same limitations and controls, excepting height,
as specifically set forth in the B-1 Zone, Section
20, and the following uses:
NAdvertising sign
Auditorium
Automobile or trailer sales - Provided that
any display or storage area shall be developed
as required in Section 9; and that any incident-
al repair of automobiles or trailers shall be
conducted and confined wholly within a building
Id) Bar and/or cocktail lounge
fBath, turkish and/or physical culture establishment
f Billboard
g Bird store, pet shop and/or taxidermist
h Blue printing or photostating establishment
i Department store
j Dry cleaning establishment using not more than
two clothes cleaning units neither of which
shall have a rated capacity of more than 40
pounds, using cleaning fluid which is non-
explosive and non -inflammable
k Film exchange
1 Furniture store
M Interior decorating store
n Kusic conservatory or music instruction
o Parking garage
p Pawnshop
Rescue or revival mission
r Trade or business school, or private school
operating as a commercial enterprise
(s) Wholesale merchandise broker, excluding
wholesale storage
(t) Other retail business and service establish-
ments, not specifically referred to in this
ordinance, selling new merchandise eaiclusively."
SECTION 4. That Section 21-A-4 of said Ordinance be, and it is
hereby, amended so that in its amended state, it will read as follows:
"4. The Followin Uses - Conducted wholly within a
building off-street loading of delivery
vehicles which are incidental thereto as required
in Section 9:

d Upholstering shop"
SECTIOII 5. That Section 21-A-5 of said Ordinance be, and it is
hereby, amended so that in its amended state, it wrill read as follows:
"5. The Folloaivina Special Exceptions - If their location

Funeral parlor
hospital or sanitarium for contagious, mental
drug or liquor addict cases
(d) Public service establishment, including elec-
tricity distributing substation and telephone

SECTIOId 6. That Section 22-A-8 of said Ordinance be, and
it is hereby, amended so that in its amended state, it will read as
follows:
118. The Following Uses - Provided they are conducted
more than 50 feet from an R Zone boundry line;
(a Bottling works
(b Camp ground (Provided that the site and the
site improvement and utilization plans are
first approved by the Commission)
c) Circus or transient amusement
d Creamery and/or ice cream manufacture
e Drive-in theatre
f Driving tees and ranges
Dry cleaning establishment
((h Feed or fuel store
(i Funeral home
J Ice manufacture and storage, and/or cold storage
k Laundry
1 Poultry or rabbit killing incidental to retail
sales on the premises
(m Public storage warehouse
n Stadium
o Trucking yard or terminal
p Wholesale merchandise storage
g Any use permitted in the i•I-1 zone provided that
not more than 10 per cent of the rentable floor
area of any floor of a building is devoted to
such use. In determining the floor area so
used it shall be all the rentable floor area
occupied by concerns engaged in such production
activities exclusive of that used for offices,
display, waiting rooms, or clerical work_."
SECTION 7. That if any section;, paragraph or provision of
this Ordinance shall. be found to be inoperative, ineffective or in-
valid for any cause, the deficiency or invalidity of such section_,
paragraph or provision shall not affect any other section, paragraph
or provision hereof, it being the purpose and intent of this Ordi-
nance to make each and every section, paragraph and provision hereof
separable from all other sections, paragraphs and provisions.
SECTION 8. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
