API ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE TENTATIVE ACCEPTAIICE OF THE
BID OF CARROTHERS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY OF PAOLA, KANSAS IN THE SUM
OF 51358,900.00 FOR CONTRACT NUMBER ONE SEUAGE PU•IP STATIONS, AND
'A71,600.00 FOR CONTRACT NIAZER THREE SEt7AGE TREATPiENT PLANT
WHEREAS, by Resolution heretofore adopted by the Board of
Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, the City manager was
authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of three sewage
Pump stations, designated -as Contract No. 1, three sections of sanitary
sewers designated as Contract No. 2 and one sewage treatment plant
designated as Contract No. 3, and
P1HEREAS, the City Manager did advertise for bids for such
construction and the bids were opened at 2:00 P.P•i. on June 10, 1955
for Contracts No. 1 and No. 3, and
WHEREAS, only o ne bid was received on Contract No. 2 which
was returned to the bidder unopened, and
WHEREAS, Carrothers Construction Company of Paola, Kansas
was the low bidder for the construction of Contracts No. 1 and No. 3,
said bids being '?368,900.00 for Contract No. 1 and W1,600.00 for
Contract No. 3 with an offer of a deduction of ;110,000.00 if awarded
both contracts.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COI,T_ISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the bids of Carrothers Construction Company
of Paola, Kansas in the sum of 51365,900.00 for Contract No. 1 of the
Sanitary Sewer Improvements and 51471,600.00 for Contract No. 3 of same,
less a discount of 5110,000.00, be tentatively accepted subject to the
terms and conditions set out in Section 2 hereof.
SECTION 2. The tentative acceptance of the bids set out in
Section 1 hereof shall be subject to the validation of the 511,250,000.00
of Sanitary Sewage Improvement Bond Issue by the McCracken Circuit Court
and shall be subject to the sale of said bonds, it being the intention
and only the intention of the Board of Commissioners to accept said
bids at this time only as is permitted by law.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
