AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A POLL TAX OF $2.00 FOR THE BENEFIT
OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE PADUCAH INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT
ON CERTAIN MALE RESIDENTS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR THE YEAR 1955
WHEREAS on R1arch 30, 1955 the Board of Education of the
Paducah Independent School District filed with the *rd of
Commissioners of the City of Paducah its General Budget for the
year 1955, and
WHEREAS attached to said budget was a request that the Board
Of Commissioners levy a poll tax of $2.00 on all male citizens in
the district twenty-one years of age and not to exceed sixty-five
years of age, and
17HEREAS KRS 160.475(2) provides that the Board of Education
of any district may request the levy of a poll tax not exceeding
$2.00 on each male inhabitant within the district over twenty-one
years of age who is not exempt by law from the payment of poll tax.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COM IISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. There is hereby levied for the use and benefit
of the Board of Education of the Paducah Independent School District
for the year 1955, a poll tax of 62.00 on each male: inhabitant within
the City of Paducah over twenty-one years of age who is not exempt
by law from payment of poll tax.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
