AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9 OF THE "APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES•
CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
ON DECEMBER 2, 1947 AND AMENDED ON APRIL 12, 1955•
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 9 of the "Appointive Employees?
Civil Service Ordinance", which was adopted by the Board of
Commissioners on December 2, 1947, and amended on April 12, 19559
be further amended and reordained so that said Section as amended
and reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 9. That there is hereby authorized and created the
following positions not assigned to any department of the City of
Paducah, but directly under the supervision of the City Manager, and
the salary of each position, provided the amount of such salary is
not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted shall
be as follows:

3. Clerk -typist 200.00
4. Social Worker 120.00
5. Manager of City Wharf and City Market 240.00
Maintenance
6. Chief of Maintenance Division 300.00
7. Maintenance Men (2 positions) 240.00
8. Maintenance Helper (2 positions) 220.00
Inspections
9. Building & Electrical Inspector 390.00
19. Clerk -typist 220.00
Clerk -typists under this section shall be paid at the rate
of $$180.00 for the first six months, $$190.00 per month for
the next six months and $$200.00 per month thereafter upon
recommendation of the City Manager.
The Building & Electrical Inspector shall perform the duties
formerly performed by the Building Inspector and the Electrical
Inspector, and said Building & Electrical Inspector shall be
under the direct supervision of the City Manager.

The Manager of the City Wharf and City Market shall perform
the duties formerly performed by the Wharfmaster and Market
Master, and said Manager shall be under the direct supervision
of the City Manager.
The holder of the present positions of Wharfmaster and Market
Master shall be permitted to take any competitive examination
held for the position of Manager of the City Wharf and City
Market. 11
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts oif ordinances in conflict
herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTS This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
on and after the 1st day of May, 1955.
