AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AND AUTHORIZING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION
FOR AN ADVNNCE OF FEDERAL FUNDS IN AMOUNTS TOTALING NOT IN EXCESS OF $p81,857.00
PURSUANT TO TITLE I OF THE HOUSING ACT OF 1949
WHEREAS the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by
appropriate resolution, has heretofore undertaken the institution of a Slum
Clearance and Urban Redevelopment Program within said City and has secured a
reservation of Federal Funds for that purpose, and
WHEREAS a preliminary survey has heretofore been made and has revealed
the advisability of proceeding further with final survey and planning activities,
and
WHEREAS it is possible to procure an advance of Federal funds to defray the
expense of such survey and activities, and
WHEREAS the Paducah Planning and Zoning Commission has recommended budgets
on three project areas totaling ?81,857.00, and has recommended that an applica-
tion with respect to each project area be filed in the amounts set forth below,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That applications shall be filed by the City of Paducah with
Division of Slum Clearance and Urban Redevelopment of the Housing and Home Fina:
Agency pursuant to Title I of the Housing Act of 1949, Public Law 171, 81st Con;
for advances of Federal funds in the following amounts for use in defraying the
expense of final survey and planning activities in the following three project
areas in the Slum Clearance and Urban Redevelopment Program within said City:
Area A, $26,932.00; Area B-1 $32,350.00; Area -C. $22,575.00.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor, City Clerk, Assistant Corporation Counsel and
any other necessary official of said City be, and they are hereby, authorized
to prepare, execute, file and deliver such applications in the proper form in
behalf of the City of Paducah, and to supplement and to amend them as from time
to time may be found necessary.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for at
least one week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be
put upon its final passage and shall become effective ten days after it is adop
