THE CITY OF PADUCAH WITH ITS REQUIREMITS OF REGULAR AND ETHYL GASOLINE, DIESEL FU,,
MOTOR OIL, CHASSIS LUBRICANT, GEAR LUBE OIL AND ANTI -FREEZE TO BE USED BY THE CITY

OF PADUCAH UNTIL JUNE 30, 1955
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to advertisl
for bids for furnishing the City of Paducah with its requirements of Regular and
Ethyl Gasoline, diesel fuer, motor oil, chassis lubricant, gear lube oil and
anti -freeze for the period beginning January 1, 1955 or as soon thereafter as
possible, and extending to and including June 30, 1955, at the lowest cash price
per unit, unit price to include State Tax, but exclusive of Federal Tax, in
accordance with all terms and specifications listed herein. iI
Each bidder must guarantee that the Regular and Ethyl Gasoline he proposes
to supply will be equal to or exceed 84 octane and 90 octane, respectively, the
price to be listed as the prevailing tank wagon prices, plus or minus; motor oil
to be detergent heavy duty, premium and first grade (requirements approximately

g per month).; diesel fuel to be AIo. ?_ (requirements approximately 2,000 �
gallons per month); chassis lubricant to be all-purpose (requirements approximatel�r
200 pounds per month); gear lube oil to be 140 weight and 90 weight (requirements '
approximately 25 pounds of each per month); anti -freeze to be permanent type (re-
quirements approximately 150 gallons per year).
The requirements for Ethyl gasoline will be approximately 3,500 gallons per
month and for regular gasoline about 2,500 gallons per month.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish and install three (3) elec-
trically operated and metered gasoline pumps, necessary tanks and required concret
islands and will be required to furnish one (1) electrically operated and metered
diesel pump and underground tank.
In the event bids are awarded to more than one bidder the successful bidder
for the Ethyl gasoline will be required to furnish two (2) pumps, tanks and island3;
and the successful bidder for the Regular gasoline shall be required to furnish on
(1) pump, tank and island; and the successful bidder for the diesel fuel shall be
required to furnish one (1) pump and tank.
Bids shall provide a guarantee against advance in the bid price, and shall
also guarantee a corresponding reduction in price in the event of a decrease in tY
market price of any of the items bid on.
The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, or any part thereof, the
City reserving the right to place the contract on the most favorable basis.
SECTION 2. The City Idanager shall advertise for sealed bids by posting a
notice at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in at
least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and published at
least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be opened within ten
days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No bid shall be received
after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by
the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice for the opening of bids shall
be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the bid to the lowest
responsible bidder or bidders. All bids shall be on a unit price.
SECTION 3. This resolutioi shall be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption.
