. IS GRANTED
VIHEREAS, in the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of
the City of Paducah, Itentucky, it is to the interest of the citizens
of said city that the services of a community television antenna
system with transmission cables and lines be available to those
desiring same, and
WHEREAS, Leonard Cohen has proposed to construct and erect
an antenna system upon some site outside the corporate limits of
Paducah providing permission of this Board is obtained for the con-
struction, operation and maintenance of transmission cables and lines
inside the City for the purpose of distributing television signals.
NOW TIIER.EFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COI-34ISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KEN1TUCKY:
�I SECTION 1. Subject to the conditions set out hereinafter,
permission is hereby granted to Leonard Cohen and/or his assigns to
construct, operate and maintain television signal cables and lines
upon, along, across, over and under the streets, alleys and public
trays of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, including such poles, wires,
cross -arms, insulators, fixtures, cables and other structures,
appliances and appurtenances as may from time to time be necessary
for the distribution of television signals to the public. All of said
cables, lines and associated equipment shall be constructed and
maintained in a safe and workmanlike manner, and the said Leonard Cohen
and/or his assigns shall furnish a surety company bond to the City
in the sum of 5;10,000.00 indemnifying the City from any damage that
might be caused to any streets, alleys or other public property in
connection with such construction, & maintenance and operation. Any
poles or other equipment installed under the permission granted herein
shall be promptly moved by the said Leonard Cohen and/or his assigns
when such moving is deemed necessary by motion, resolution or ordinance
adopted by the Board of Commissioners of the City at no expense to
the City.

SECTION 2. The said Leonard Cohen and/or his assigns
shall furnish the City with comprehensive general liability insurance
protecting the City against damages and injuries to persons and property
caused by them or any of their employees and contractors, said insurance
bo be in the sum of ;)100,000.00 for personal injury or death to any one
person; and in the sum of ;$300,000.00 for personal injury or death to
more than one person resulting from the same accident; 050,000.00 for
damage to property in any one accident.
SECTION 3. The permission granted by this ordinance shall
be for a period of 5 years from its adoption, unless sooner terminated
by operation of law or by ordinance of the City because of any violation
of any terms and conditions contained herein.
SECTION 4.. The permission granted by this ordinance is
granted subject to all present and future lairs of the Commonwealth of
Kentucky and the United States of America and shall not be construed
as a franchise or exclusive right; nor shall it relieve the said Leonard
from the payment
Cohen and/or his assigns/of any taxes or license fees that may be imposed
by law or ordinance upon the aforesaid equipment located within the
corporate limits of the City and the operation thereof.
SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain
on file for public inspection for;'at least one (1) week in the completed
form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted
shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
