"AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PLAT OF THE RUSHING ADDITION TO OAK
GROVE CEMETERY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AIM THE LAYOUT
PLAIT FOR GRAVES, MONUMENTS AND MARKERS THEREIN; PROVIDING FOR
THE ESTABLISHAU:NT OF A CEMETERY TO BE KNOI'!N AS THE TRUSHING ADDITION
TO OAK GROVE CEMETERYT; PROVIDING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE
SALE OF LOTS, THE ISSUANCE OF BURIAL PEUUTS, THE INTERMENT OF
BODIES AND THE ERECTION OF MONUf+TEATS AND I.1ARKERS THEREIN AND IN THE
ADDITIONS THERETO; FIXING THE PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT THEREI'IITH", MACH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF CODIIISSIONERS
ON JUNE 12, 1951
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF W-2IISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 4 of an ordinance containing the
title quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners
on June 12, 1951, be, and the same, is hereby amended and reordained
so that said section as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 4. Except for the hereinafter set out portion
of said Addition, it shall be unlawful to inter a body in said
Addition other than that of a negro or of a person of African de-
scent. Said portion so excepted being that part of B1ock'No. 9
bounded by Crider Street; Gott Street and the Walla -ray extending
from Crider Street to Gott Street, said portion consisting of Lots
Nos. 1 to 26 inclusive and Lots Nos 141 to 262 inclusive."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its adoption.
