HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 999, No Ordinance Number999 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSING OF A PUBLIC ALLEY ON THE NORTHWEST BOUNDARY OF BLOCK NO. 12 IPI JERSEY CITY ADDITION TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND AUTHORIZING THE CORPORATION COUNSEL TO INSTITUTE IN THE McCRACKEN CIRCUIT COURT A SUIT FOR THE PURPOSE OF HAVING SAID ALLEY LEGALLY CLOSED. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COV11ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah does hereby authorize the closing of a public alley on the northwest boundary of Block No. 12 in Jersey City Addition to the City of Paducah, said alley to be closed is more particularly described as follows: ''Bdoinninro at the southeast corner of Lot 127 in Block 11 of Jersey City Addition, same being the point of intersection of the west line of 5th street and the north line of the alley to be closed; thence in a westerly direction and parallel with Elizabeth Street along the north line of said alley 163.25 feet to the east line of another alley in Block No. 11, this last alley being parallel to 5th street; thence south and parallel with 6th street and along the east line of the last mentioned alley 27 feet to the northwest line of Block 12 in said Addition; thence towards 5th street and along the northwest line of Block 12 and parallel with Elizabeth street 18B feet more or less to the point where the northwest line of Block 12 intersects the south line of 5th street; thence in a straight line from said last point of intersection and in a westerly direction approximately 34 feet to the point of beginning." SECTION 2. That the Corporation Counsel of the City of Paducah is hereby authorized, empowered and directed to institute, pursuant to the provisions of KMS 93.360, a suit for an decree ordering the closing• of said alley. SECTS This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
