AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE POSITION OF'DIRECTOR OF'PUBLIC WORKS,
DESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SAID POSITION AND THE SALARY THEREOF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. There is hereby created a position in the City of Paducah
to be known as the "Director of Public Works". Said position to be under the
direction and supervision of the City Manager, and the City Manager is hereby
authorized to employ a suitable and qualified person to fill said position.
The person occupying the position of Director of Public Works shall be
charged with the supervision of all work connected with maintenance of streets,
sanitary sewers, storm drainage, traffic facilities and refuse collection and
disposal, and'such other related work as may be required by the City Manager.
The salary of the Director of Public Works shall be X450.00 per month and
shall be paid at the same time and in the same manner as the salaries of
other employees of the city are paid and shall be paid from funds appropriated
for salaries in the street department. Said position shall not be a Civil
Service position or covered by any provision of the Civil Service ordinance
of the City of Paducah or by the provisions of the Civil Service Statute
of the State of Kentucky, and the person filling such position shall not
acquire any rights under the rules of Civil Service governing employees in
cities of the second class.
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced and remain on file for
public inspection for at least one (1) week in the completed form in which
it shall be put upon its final passage.
