AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PURCHASE RROM THE HOME ICE C011-1'ANY, A
CORPORATION, OF CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR THE SUM OF :;j4,500.00,
TO BE USED AS AN AIMORY SITE, AND PROVIDING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER
WHICH SAID PROPERTY SHALL BE PURCHASED
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COiMaSSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager of the City of Paducah, for and on behalf
of said City, is hereby directed to complete the purchase of an armory site
from the Home Icr Company, a Kentucky corporation, said site being located
on the south side of Clark Street between 17th and 19th streets in said
City, a: more particular::description being as follows:
Tract No. 1: Beginning at a point on the south side of Clark
Street, 307.3$ feet from the southwest corner of 17th
and Clark Streets; thence southwardly with the line between
the property herein described and the property of Mrs. Lillie
Rieke Boyd, 567.31 feet to -a stone in the Theobald line;
thence at the right at an angle of 90 degrees 22 minutes and
westwardly 174.4 feet to the east line of a 10 foot alley;
thence northwardly and with the east line of said alley
5$2.35 feet to the line of Clark Street; thence eastwardly
and with the south line of Clark Street 178.13 feet to the
point of beginning. Being a part of the same property con-
veyed to Home -Ice Company by Jacquelyn Rieke ^roof and husband,
Jesse W. Toof, on February 24, 1938, by deed of record in Deed
Book 195, page 144.
Tract No. 2: Beginning at a point in the south line of Clark
Street 17.5 feet west of the southwest intersection of 17th Street
and Clark Street, said point being corner to a 16.5 foot alley;
thence in a southerly direction and with the north line of said
alley 200 feet to the north line of another 16.5 foot alley; thence
at right angles in a westerly direction with the north line of
said last named alley 112.80 feet to the north line of the
property of the party of the second part (Horne Ice Company);
thence in a northwesterly direction with the line of said property
of the party of the second part (Home Ice Company) 200.85 feet
to the line of Clark Street; thence in an easterly direction_ with
the line of Clark Street 130.$$ feet to the point of beginning.
Tract I?o. 3: Beginning at a point in the west line of 17th
Street L,00 feet south of the southwest intersection of 17th
and Clark Streets; thence in a southerly direction with the
west line of 17th Street 10.86 feet to a point in the south
line of the property of the party of the first part (Mics.
Lillie Rieke Boyd) corner to the property formerly owned by
Theobald, now owned by Jake Rosenfield; thence in a south-
viesterly direction with the line of said Rosenfield property
301.65 feet to a stone in the line of the property of the
party of the second part (Home Ice Company); thence with the
line of the property of the second part (Home Ice Company)
in a northwesterly direction_, at an interior angle of 65 degrees
43 minutes, 350 feet, more or less, to the south line of a
16.5 foot alley; thence in an easterly direction and in a
line parallel with Clark Street and with the south line of
said alley 111 feet more or less, to the west line of
another 16.5 foot alley; said last mentioned alley being
parallel to 17th street; thence at right angles and in a
southerly direction with the west line of said alley and in
a line parallel t6 17th Street 183.5 feet to the end of said
alley; thence at right angles and in an easterly direction and
in a line parallel with Clark Street 176.5 feet to the point
of beginning.

The price to be paid for said property shall be the swi of 4,500.00,
which amount shall be credited with the sum of :'?200.00 which has heretofore
been paid said Home Ice Company for an option to purchase. Upon execution
of a good and sufficient deed conveying an unencumbered marketable title
to said property either to the State of Kentucky or the City of Paducah,
as may be directed by the Adjutant General of the State of Kentucky, the
City'lianager is hereby authorized to pay to said Home Ice Company the sum
of ,14,300.00 as final payment for said property, according to the terms of
this ordinance and of said option to purchase which is hereby ratified
and approved.
SECTIOil 2. Payment for said property as provided in Section 1 shall be
from finds appropriated under Account 7700, and funds to be apportioned
to said account under an amendment of the 1952 AP FORT I01FI 'i1T Ordinance.
ShCTIOH 3. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of
the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for public inspection for
at least one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its
final passage. As it is immediately necessary to provide a building site
for said armory the public health and sa_uty require that this ordinance
be made immediately effective, an emergency is accordingly declared and
this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
