AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF W. H. YANCY FOR CONSTRUCTING CONCRETE
DRIVEWAYS, CURB AND GUTTER ITITH INCIDENTAL PAVEMENT AND SIDEWALK ON MONROE
STREET BETWEEN 7TH AND 8TH STREETS; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A
CONTRACT WITH W. H. YANCY AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS TO BE
CONTAINED IN SAID CONTRACT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept the bid of W. H. Yancy for
constructing concrete driveways, curb and gutter with incidental pavement and
sidewalks on Monroe Street between 7th and 8th Streets in said City, said work
to be done in accordance with specifications and blueprints on file in the
office of the City Engineer at the City Hall in Paducah, Kentucky, and which
specifications and blue prints shall be attached to and made a part of the
contract for the performance of said work; and -the Mayor is hereby authorized
and empowered, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, to enter into and
execute a contract in words and figures as follows, to -writ:
"That for and in consideration of the amount set
forth in the bid of the Contractor, W. H. Yancy,
and the compliance with all of the specifications
and blueprints prepared by the City Engineer, the
Contractor hereby agrees to perform all labor and
furnish all material and machinery necessary for
use in constructing concrete driveways, curb and
gutter with incidental pavement and sidewalks on
Monroe Street between 7th and 8th Streets in the
City of Paducah in accordance with the aforesaid
specifications vrhich are filed with and made a
part of this contract to the same extent as if
fully copied herein, the same being marked Exhibit
"A'l, and also in accordance with the blueprints
prepared by T. A. Bradley, City Engineer, attached
hereto as Exhibit "B".
"It is understood and agreed that the contractor
shall execute and deliver of the City of Paducah
a performance bond in the sum and substance provided
for in the specifications, the same to be approved
by the Mayor and the Attorney for the City of Paducah.
"It is further agreed and understood that the City
of Paducah shall pay for said work at the time and
in the manner provided in the aforesaid specifications."

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting
of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for one week for public
inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage,
and if adopted it shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days thereafter.
