A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF STORM SETTERS UNDER PROJECT KY -15 -CF -8 AND PROVIDING THE TERMS
AND MAIIUER IN WHICH BIDS SHALL BE RECEIVED
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COI.11ISSIOHERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized to
advertise for bids for storm sever construction as contemplated in an application
by said City -for Federal Assistance under Public Lar! 139, being referred to by
the Housing and Home Finance Agency as Project Ky. 15 -CF -8, and that said con-
struction work be divided into five sections for which separate proposals shall b
submitted as follows:
"SECTION 1 = Noble Park Outfall Sewer, consisting of
approximately 350 feet of open ditch, 2709 feet Rein-
forced Concrete Box_ Sewer, 249 feet of 24 inch pipe,
157 feet of 18 inch pipe, and appurtenant structures.
SECTION 2 - 30th Street Relief Sever, consisting of
approximately 3825 feet of 90 inch pipe, 807 feet of
72 inch pipe 366 feet of 60 inch pipe, 40 feet of 30
in41h pipe, 169 feet of 24 inch pipe, 353 feet of 18
inch pipe, and appurtenant structures.
SECTION 3. - nth Street Relief Sewer, Consisting of
approximately 1528 feet of 90 inch pipe, 812 feet of
84 inch pipe, 777 feet of 72 inch pipe, 32 feet of
30 inch pipe and 62 feet of concrete box sewer, 194
feet of 24 inch pipe, 414 feet of 18 inch pipe, and
appurtenant structures.
SECTION 4 - Cruse Avenue Sewer, consisting of approx-
imately 788 feet of 48 inch pipe, 307 feet of 30 inch
pipe, 400 feet of 27 inch pipe, 400 feet of 24 inch
pipe, 476 feet of 21 inch pipe, 872 feet of 18 inch
pipe, and appurtenant structures.
SECTION 5 - Branch Sewer. consisting of approximately
950 feet of open ditch, 3234 feet of 60 inch pipe, 501
feet of 54 inch pipe, 235 feet of 48 inch pipe, 255
feet of 24 inch pipe, 492 feet of 18 inch pipe, and
appurtenant structures."
Copies of the plans and specifications are on file in the office of the
City Engineer, City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, and at the office of Black and Veat
Consulting Engineers, 4706 Broadway, Kansas City 2, Missouri and may be examined
there without charge.
One complete set of plans and specifications may be obtained from the
City Engineer or the Consulting Engineers upon deposit of 825.00, this amount
to be refunded upon return of all documents, not filed with bid, within thirty
days after bids are opened.
Buds must be accompanied by cashier's check, certified check or acceptable
bidder's bond, payable to the City of Paducah in an amount not less than five (5'
per cent of the total of the bid submitted.

The right is reserved by the City to award the contract by sections,
to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities therein. No bidder may
withdraw his bid for a period of 15 days after the time set for receipt of bids.
SECTION 2. The City P.Ianager shall advertise for the aforesaid bids by
posting a notice at the City I-Iall door and by inserting notice of the Request for
Bids in at least one (1) issue of the Paducah Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be
published at least seven (7) days prior to the opening of bids and no bids shall
be opened within ten (10) days from the date of the adoption of this resolution.
No bids shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after
the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the
City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board of
Commissioners who may let the contracts to tlislorest responsible bidder or bidders.
The Board shall reserve the right to reject any or all bids, and the City shall
not become legally obligated under a contract for the aforesaid construction work
until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract and
fixing the terms and conditions thereof.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
