AN ORDINANCE MENDING SECTION 1 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: °AM ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING THE NMJBER, HANKS AND MONTHLY SALARIES OF THE POLICE DEPARTI-ENT AND
REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH", IMICH WAS ADOPTED BY TIM BOARD OF
WDIISSIONERS ON AUGUST 5, 1952.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, IMNTUCKY:
SECTION 1 That Section 1 of an ordinance containing the titled quoted above,
which was adopted on August 5, 1952, be , and the same is hereby amended so that said
section as amended shall read as follows:
"SECTION 1 The number and ranks of. members of the Police Department of the
City of Paducah, and their monthly salaries, provided said salaries are not changed by
any annual apportionment ordinance adopted hereafter shall be as follows:
Positions Number of Positions ,lonthly Salary
Chief of Police 1 $335.00
Asst. Chief of Police 1 280.00
Chief Detective 1 275.00
Captain 5 265.00
Lieutenant 5 260.00
Jailer 1 255.00
Sergeant 5 255.00
Policemen 41 250.00
Provided, however, that a new member of this Department, during his first
year of service, shall receive a salary of $240.00 per month, and upon completing a
year of satisfac yry service, as determined by the City Manager on recommendation of
the Chief of Police, his monthly salary shall be increased to the applicable amount shown
above.?'
SECTION 2 All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are,
to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3 This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
