AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED:
°AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EMPLOYDDETT OF ATTORNEYS TO RESPRESENT THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY IN LEGAL MATTERS; FIXING THE MD3ER TO BE EMPLOYED AND THE AMOUNT OF THEIR
COMPENSATION; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SUCH ATTORNEYS; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT THEREWITH," WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON APRIL 24, 1951,
AND AMENDED ON JANUARY 8, 1952.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1 That Section 5 of an ordinance containing the title quoted above,
which ordinance was adopted on April 24, 1951, and amended on January 8, 1952, be, and
the same is hereb y amended and reordained so that said section as amended and reordained
shall read as follows:
"SECTION 5 The City Manager is further authorized to employ for the City of
Paducah, until December 31, 1952, an attorney to be designated as Special Consel who
shall represent the city in the litigation involving the acquisition of the electric
utilities system of the Kentucky Utilities Company, the four flood damage suits now pending
against the city, and any other damage suits that may be filed against said City.
SECTION 2 All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are,
to the extend of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3 This ordinance shall be retroactively effective and be in full
force and effect from July 1, 1952.
