AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE AMNIDMT OF THE FIFTH SUPPLj-!MNTAL CONTRACT
ENTERED INTO BETI7F.EN THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND THE PADUCAH BUS COMPANY ON MAY 14, 1949
UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF AN 011DINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE DIRECTING THE CITY
MANACL'R OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, 10WTUCKY, TO SELL A FRANCHISE AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASER TO MAINTAIN AND OPERATE MOTOR PASSENGER BUSES OVER AND UPON TILE STREET,
AVENUES AND PUBLIC WAYS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND FLYING THE TERIIS AND CONDITIONS
OF THE EXERCISE OF SAID GRANT," 11HICH ORDINANCE KN01N AS ITIOTOR BUS FRANCHISE
NO. 211 WAS ADOPTED ON FEBRUARY 1, 1944; SAID MUMED CONTPaCT TO BE RE ERRED TO AS
THE SIXTH SUPPLE IMAL CONTRACT: PRESCRIBING TIE TMMIS AND CONDITIONS TO BE
CONTAINED IN SAID AM IDED CONTRACT AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID
AMENDED CONTRACT FOR AN ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAliM BY THE BOARD OF COM-IISSIOIMMS OF THE CITY
OF PADUCAII, IGNTUCKY:
SECTION 1
That Subsections (a), (b) and (d) of Paragraph numbered 2 and that
Paragraph numbered 4 of the Fifth Supplemental Contract entered into between
the City of Paducah and the Paducah Bus Company on May 14, 1949, which
Paragraphs of said contract are in words and figures as follows, to -mit:
11(2) ' That until the cancellation of this contract in the manner
hereinafter provided, the company shall maintain as a minimum the operation of
busds over the following routes now established and if effect and under the
following schedules:
'?(a) Arcadia Route extending from lst and Broadmay to the intersection of
the Lone Oak Road and Blandville Road and return to lst and Broadway, with
operating schedule making bus service available at intervals of time not exceeding
40 minutes from each regular stop on said route,
11(b) Avondale Route extending from 1st and Broadiray to the intersection of
37th and Central Avenue and return to lst and Broadway, with operating schedule
making bus service available at intervals of time not exceeding 40 minutes from
each regular stop on said route.
"(d) 6u$hrie Avenue Route extending from 1st and Broadway to Schneidman
Road and Markham Street intersection and return to lst and Broadway, with operating
schedule making bus service availableat intervals of time not exceeding 20 minutes
from each regular stop on said route.
11(4) lu;cept as modified by this Fifth Supplemental Contract, all of the
terms, agreements, conditions and covenants contained in the aforesaid Fourth
Supplemental Contract and the aforesaid franchise ordinance shall remain and
continue in full force and effect, and the same shall be in effect iuitil the
cantwllation of this contract in the manner set out above."

Be the same are hereby amended so that said sections and paragraphers
as amended shall read as follows:
(2) That until the cancellation of this contract in the manner
hereinafter provided, the company shall maintain as a minimum the operation
of buses over the following rontes now established and in effedt and Linder the
following schedules:
(a) Arcadia P,oute extending from 3rd and Broadway south on 3rd Street to
KentuckyAvenue: thence urest on Kentucky Avenue to 9th Street; thence north to
Broadrry; thence west on Bfoadiay; thence nest on Broadway and return to 3rd and
Broadt,ay, With operating schedule making bus service available at intervals of time
not to exceeding 40 minutes from each regular stop on said Route.
(b)=>vondale :,oute extending from 3rd and Broadt,ay south on 3rd Street to
Kentucky ]venue; thence west on P,entucky Avenue to 9th Street; thence north to
Broadway; thence Crest to the intersection of 37th and Central Avenue and return
to 3rd and Broad*.;ay, With operating schedule making bus service available at
intervals of time not exceeding 40 minutes from each regular stop on said Route.
(d) Guthrie Avenue Route extending from 3rd and Broadway south on 3rd Street
to Kentucky Avenue; thence Lest on Kentucky ;!venue to 9th Street; thence north to
Broadway; thence from 9th and Broadi-my to Schneidman Road and Markham Street
intersection and return to 3rd and Broadway and With operating schedule making bus
service available at intervals of time not to exceeding 20 minutes from eadh
regular stop on said Route.
(4) :xcept as modified by this Sixth Supplemental Contract all the terms,
agreements, conditions and covenants contained in the aforesaid Fifth Supplemental
Contract and the aforesaid franchise ordinance shall remain and continue in full
force and effect and the same shall be in effect until the cancellation of this
contract in the manner set out above.
SECTION 2
That Robert C. Cherry, Nayor of the City of Paducah, be and he is hereby
authorized and empowered for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, to enter into
a contract containing the aforesaid amendments, said contract to be referred to as
the Sixth Supplemental Contract, and to be effective July 71 1952.,
SECTION 3
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are, to the extent
of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 4
This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after �its adoption.
