AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF KRUG-THOMAS TRUCK AND TRACTOR
COMPANY FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF THREE NEL'] 16,000 G.V.W.
YOTOR TRUCKS FOR USE IN THE STREET DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE THEREOF
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah accept;the bid of Krug -Thomas
Truck and Tractor Company in the sum of 07,566.70 for sale to tke City
of Paducah of three 16,000 G. V. W. motor trucks witig hydraulic dump bodies,
equipped with cabs, heavy duty front and*rear springs, and oil filters.
Each body of three (3) yard water level capacity 8 x"631! constructed to
allow for extension to increase capacity and equipped with hydraulic
hoist. The wheel base of each truck to be proper length to distribute
the load on chassis, and each truck shall be equipped with disc wheels,
with 750 -20 -10 -ply tires front and 825-20 10 ply dual rear tires. Brakes
to be enclosed. Trucks shall have two speed rear axles with oversized
radiators. In accordance with Krug -Thomas Truck and Tractor Company's
bid dated May 5, 1952•
SECTION 2. That the Dity Manager be, and he is hereby authorized
to enter into and execute, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, a con-
tract for the purchase of said machines, provided that said contract may
contain all of the terms, conditions and abreements as set forth in said
company's bid together with such additional conditions and covenants which
the City Manager may deem necessary.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of
the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for at least one week for public
inspection in the completed form in which it shall be placed upon its final
passage. Because of the immediate need for said trucks in the maintenance of
streets of the City of Paducah, the public health and safety requires that
this ordinance shall take immediate effect, an emergency is hereby declared
and this ordinance shall be in full force abd effect from and after its
adoption.
