A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS
FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN ADDRESSING MACHINE FOR USE IN THE FINANCE DEPART -
EENT AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITION'S UDDER WHICH BIDS SHALL
BE RECEIVED
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COM1-IISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY;
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized
to advertise for bids for sale to the City of Paducah of one electric
addressing machine equipped with features to automatically handle and
feed unit tax bills and transcribing units at one operation. Each
bidder shall state the lowest amount acceptable for payment of the pur-
chase price for said electric addressing machine and shall submit a com-
plete description of the machine he proposes to sell.
SECTIO14 2. The City h:anager shall advertise for bids by a notice
posted up at the city hall door and by inserting notice of the request
for bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be
posted and published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and
no bid shall be opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution
is adopted. No bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall and bid
be received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All
bids received by the City f•lanager up to the time fixed in the notice shall
be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the
lowest responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the
right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become legally
obligated to purchase said addressing machine until the adoption of an
ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.
SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
