A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE
PURCHASE OF ONE CRAWLER TYPE BACIt HOE FOR USE IN THE STREET AND FLOODVJALL
DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH; AND PRESCRIBING THE SPECIFIC TERMS AND
CONDITIONS TO BE COMPLIED WITH BY BIDDERS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COAU,ISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of one crawler
type back hoe with the following minimum specifications: 1/2 yard
capacity. A gasoline powered turntable, full revolving swing on super-
structure mounted on a two -speed chain drive crawler, 10 feet long by
eight feet overall width, with 20 inch or more width tread shoes; manual
crawler steering from cab; be adaptable to dragline, shovel, crane,
clamshell. Tobe equipped with removable side cutters on bucket.
Each bidder shall also state the amount acceptable in payment of
the full purchase price in cash, and also the amount he will accept in
payment of rental option. The bidder shall submit a complete description
showing the standard equipment of the back hoe he proposes to sell, together
with all of the auxiliary attachments. Said price to be f.o.b. Paducah,
Kentucky.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice
posted up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for
bids in at least one issue of the Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted
and published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid
shall be opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is
adopted. No bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be
received after the hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All
bids received by the City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall
be filed with the Board of Commissioners who may let the contract to the
lowest and best responsible bidder. The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the
right to reject any and all bids and the city shall not become legally obligated
to purchase said back hoe until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the
execution of a contract.
SECTS This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
