A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE INSTITUTION OF A SLUM CLEARANCE AND REDEVELOPMENT
PROGRAM WITHIN THE CITY -OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
WHEREAS the housing and Home Finance Agency has heretofore reserved or ear -marked
a substantial fund for possible use in connection with a proposed slum clearance
and redevelopment program within the City of Paducah, and
4HEREAS KRS 99.330 to)and including 99.510 set forth a prodedure which is adaptab.
and suitable for such a program and which anticipates the use of Federal aid, and
WHEREAS by resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION RELATED TO THE INSTITUTION OF A
BLUM CLEARANCE AND REDEVELOPMENT PROGRAM WITHIN THE CITY OF PADUCAH", the Planning
and Zoning Commission of the City of Paducah and Municipal Area, McCracken County,
Kentucky has made recommendations to this Board respecting said program, all of
which appear sound and should be concurred in,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMJ SSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH:
SECTION 1. That there exist in the City of Paducah slum areas or blighted areas,
as defined in KRS 99.340.
SECTION 2. That there is need in the said city for the exercise of powers, func-
tions and duties conferred by KRS 99.330 to 99.510.
SECTION 3. That it would be more efficient and in the public interest for the
powers, functions and duties referred to in Section 2 hereof to be exercised by the
City of Paducah rather than by an agency created pursuant to KRS 99.350, which _
determination is hereby made pursuant to KRS 99.490•
SECTION 4. That such of said powers, functions and duties as are related to the
research, investigation, planning and analysis and other like phases of the said
slum clearance and redevelopment program shall be, and they are hereby, delegated
to the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Paducah and 14unicipal Area,
McCracken County, Kentucky, which said Commission shall report on its activities
in those respects from time to time, all of its acts, findings and determinations
to be subject to the approval and ratification of this Board.
SECTION 5. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption.
