AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 37 AND 3$ OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED:
"AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE SEPTEMBER 1, 1943 EDITION OF THE STANDARDS OF THE
NATIONAL BOARD OF FIRE UNDERWRITERS FOR THE INSTALLATION, MAINTENANCE AND
USE OF PIPING, APPLIANCES AND FITTINGS FOR CITY GAS AS RECOMMENDED BY THE
NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION, AND AS THE SAME HAVE BEEN REFERRED TO
IN THE 1948 EDITION OF THE STANDARDS OF SAFETY ADOPTED AND APPROVED BY THE
DIVISION OF INSURANCE OF THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY; PROVIDING FOR THE
ADMINISTRATION AND ENFORCEMENT BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE RULES AND
REGULATIONS RELATING TO THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE AND USE OF PIPING,
APPLIANCES AND FITTINGS FOR CITY GAS; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; REPEALING
ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND FIXING THE
PENALTY FOR ANY VIOLATION HEREOF", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMIS_-
SIONERS ON SEPTEMBER 12, 1950
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Sections 37 and 38 of an ordinance containing the title
quoted above, which was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on September 12,
1950, be and the same are hereby repealed, amended and reordained so that said
sections as amended and reordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 37. The provisions of the Standards of the National Board of Fire
Underwriters for the installation, maintenance and use of Piping, Appliances and
Fittings for City Gas shall be administered and enforced by the Chief of the
Fire Department, by and through subordinates appointed by him, and the Chief of
the Fire Department, or the members of the department charged with the respon-
sibility of administering and enforcing said standards by the direction of the
Chief of the Fire Department shall, upon their inspection and approval of a gas
appliance, accessory or piping system in accordance with the provisions of said
7— standards, issue a permit to the applicant therefor upon the payment of the follow
ing fees:
(1) For the inspection of each gas appliance, accessory or piping system,
the fee shall be $2.00.
(2) For each re -inspection of each gas appliance, accessory or piping
system where it is found at the time of the previous inspection that the
installation has not been made in accordance with said minimum requirements,
the fee shall be $1.00.
"SECTION 3$. All fees received for inspection or re -inspection as
provided in this ordinance shall be paid into 'the general fund of the City
of Paducah.,,
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.

SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption.
