AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PADUCAH TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT
WITH THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY OBLIGATING THE CITY FOR PAYMENT OF ONE HALF
OF THE COST OF CERTAIN ORGANIZATIONAL EQUIPMENT FOR CIVIL DEFENSE PURPOSES, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN SUCH AGREEMENT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
TO EXIST
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah execute to the Commonwealth of Kentucky
the following agreement:
"In consideration of the procurement by the Commonwealth of
Kentucky of a contribution from the Federal Government toward the cost
of organizational equipment for civil defense purposes, and in consider-
ation of the procurement of such organizational equipment by the Federal
government, the City of Paducah hereby agrees, in addition to the agree-
ments contained on Form 103 attached hereto, that it is firmly obligated
to the Commonwealth of Kentucky for one-half of the cost of the equipment
listed on the attached Forin 103 and one-half of any procurement or trans-
portation charges which may be incurred in connection therewith, that funds
to meet such obligations are currently available, and that it will, immed-
iately upon delivery of said equipment to it and receipt bf a bill from
the Commonwealth of Kentucky, remit to the Kentucky office of Civil Defense
one-half of the cost of such equipment and one-half of any procurement and
transportation charges which may be incurred by the Commonwealth of Kentucky
of the Federal Government.
The City of Paducah further agrees that if for any reason it should
revoke or cancel the request for organizational equipment contained on the
attached Form 103, it will promptly reimburse the Commonwealth of Kentucky
for any loss, as determined by the Director of Civil Defense, occasioned
to the Commonwealth of Kentucky thereby."
SECTION 2. The organizational equipment which is the subject of
the agreement quoted in Section 1 of this ordinance, and the estimated cost
thereof is as follows:

SECTION 3. The City Manager is authorized to execute the foregoing
agreement for and on behalf of the City of Paducah.
SECTION 4. The cost to the City of Paducah of the aforesaid organizational
equipment shall be provided for and included in the annual apportionment ordinance
when adopted.
SECTION 5. The ordinance shall be introduced at a regular meeting of the
Board of Cmissioners and remain on file for public inspection one week in the
completed ffm in which it shall be put upon its final pa6sage. In order to
protect the City of Paducah and its citizens under the Civil Defense program,
and\yn view of the fact that these funds from the Federal Government must be

obligated immediately or else be allocated to other communities, and because
the equipment should be made available atthe earliest possible date, an
emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its adoption.
