HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances Book 12, Page 65, No Resolution Number65 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE PCL ICY OF THE BOARD OF C0h4MISSIONERS WITH REFERENCE TO THE USE OF FUNDS DERIVED FROM THE LEVY OF OCCUPATIONAL LICENSE TAXES LEVIED BY THE CITi OF PADUCAH WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners has adopted an ordinance providing for the levy of occupational license taxes upon all persons engaged in trades, occupations and professions who are employed by others in the City of Paducah, said license taxes to be measured by one-half of one percent of the gross receipt or income of such persons and said ordinance to be effective on and after July 1, 1950; and WHEREAS, when the amount of said revenues has been ascertained, it will be necessary to apportion the same for definite purposes b the amendment of the annual apportionment ordinances in the manner provided under KMS 89.640; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY: SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah, by and through its Mayor and Commissioners, hereby declares as its intention that the funds derived from the levy of the aforesaid occupational license taxes, which funds are to be paid into and to become a part of the General Revenue Fund, shall be used for the maintenance of the floodwall and the operation of the flood pro- tective facilities, the expense for the equalization of all property assess- ments in the City of Paducah f or taxation purposes, the expense of re -opening of Fire Station No. 3 on the north side of the city, the expense for employ- ing necessary personnel in the Police Department, and the expense for the making of major repairs to the streets, sewers and sidewalks of the city, and when the funds derived from said levies have been ascertained the same are to be apportioned for such use. SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after ots adoption.
