ANAt MOtm AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION $ OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE
PLACING OFFICES AND POSITIONS OF TRUST OR EMPLOYMENT IN THE SERVICE OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, UNDER CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND REGULATIONS PURSUANT TO THE PROVI
SIONS OF KRS 90.300 TO 90.990; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A BOARD OF CIVIL
SERVICE COMMISSIONERS, FIXING AND PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS, TERMS OF OFFICE,
POWERS AND DUTIES OF SAID COMMISSIONERS; PRESCRIBING THE RULES BY WHICH THE BOARD
OF CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSIONERS SHALL BE GOVERNED IN THE GIVING OF EXAMINATIONS
TO APPLICANTS FOR EMPLOYMENT; FIXING THE NUMBER, CLASSIFICATION AND SALARIES OF AL
EMPLOYEES IN EACH DEPARTMENT WHO SHALL BE AFFECTED BY THE CIVIL SERVICE RULES AND
REGULATIONS PROVIDED HEREIN; AND PRESCRIBING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING
THE CONDUCT OF ALL EMPLOYEES AFFECTED THEREBY AND THE CAUSES FOR WHICH ANY
EMPLOYEE MAY BE REPRIMANDED, SUSPENDED, DISMISSED OR REMOVED FROM EMPLOYMENT BY
THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR AND ESTABLISHING A RETIREMENT SYSTEM OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY, AND AUTHORIZING THE LEVY OF A TAX AND THE ASSESSMENT OF EMPLOYEES FOR TH1�
CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF SAID FUND; PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF A BOARD OF
TRUSTEES TO ADMINISTER SAID FUND; FIXING AND PRESCRIBING THE QUALIFICATIONS, TERMS
OF OFFICE, POWERS AND DUTIES OF SAID BOARD OF TRUSTEES; PRESCRIBING THE RULES AND
REGULATIONS BY WHICH SAID BOARD OF TRUSTEES AND ALL APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES SHALL BE
GOVERNED WITH REFERENCE TO THE GRANTING AND ALLOWANCE A F PENSIONS AND OTHER
BENEFITS AND PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE', WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF
COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, and amended on DECEMBER 4, 1951
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section $ of an ordinance containing the title quoted
above, which was adopted on December 2, 1947, and amended on December 4, 1951,
be and the same is hereby amended so that said section as amended whall read
as follows:
"SECTION $. There is hereby authorized the following positions in the
Department of Public Works and fin the Engineering, Street and Cemetery Divisions
2. of said Department, and the salary of each positmon, provided the amount of such

and the salary of each position in said Department, provided the amount of said
salary is not changed under any apportionment ordinance hereafter adopted,

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be retroactively effective as of
December 16, 1951.
