50 FEET ON THE EAST LINE OF NORTH 6TH STREET NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF 6TH AND MONAOE
STREETS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH FROM P. W. SMILEY AND WIFE FOR THE SUM OF $6050.00
TO BE USED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH IN THE EXTENSION OF MONROE STREET BETWEEN 7TH
AND 6TH STREETS, OBiFOR ANY OTHER PUBLIC USE; PRESCRIBING TERMS AND CONDITIONS
AND AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OND PAYMENT OF THE PURCHASE PRICE THEREOF BY THE
CITY SUBJECT TO SUCH TERMS AND CONDITIONS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City of Paducah purchase from P. W. Smiley and wife,
for the sum of $6,050.00, a certain tract or parcel of real estate located
near the intersection of 6th and Monroe Streets in the City of Paducah to be used
in the opening and extension of Monroe Street between 7th and 6th streets, or for
any other public use, said property being more particularly described as follows:
"Beginnin at a point on the east line of North 6th
street 346.5 feet south of Madison Street; thence
southwardly with the east line of North 6th street
50 feet; thence at right angles eastwardly 166 feet;
thence at right angles northwardly 50 feet; thence
at right angles westwardly 166 feet to the point of
beginning."
That said property be conveyed to the City of Paducah by the said P. W. Smiley
and wife by good and sufficient deed, free of all encumbrances and defects and
free and clear pf taxes to and including those for the year 1951, said deed tp
contain a covenant of general warranty of title.
SECTION 2. The purchase price of $6,050.00 to be paid for said property
shall be charged to Account Number 7700 Real Estate Acquisition, and the City
Manager and the City Treasurer are hereby authorized to deliver to P. W. Smiley
and wife a check payable to them in said amount upon delivery to the City
Manager of a deed conveying title to said property with covenant of general warr-
anty as aforesaid.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall beintroduced at a regular meeting of the
Board of Commissioners and remain on file for public inspection for one (1) week
in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
