FOR THE PURCHASE BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF SEWER PIPE, THE SAME TO BE
USED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, STREET DIVISION, AND PRESCRIBING
THE SPECIFICATIONS TO BE COMPLIED WITH BY BIDDERS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized
to advertise for bids for the sale to the City of Paducah of sewer pipe.
In his request for bids the City Manager shall require compliance with the
following specifications:
QUANTITY
352' - 361, Sewer Pipe
38$' - 30" Sewer Pipe
4' - 21" Sewer Pipe
132' - 27" Sewer Pipe
90' - 1$" Sewer Pipe
52T - 15" Sewer Pipe
45' - 12" Sewer Pipe
All pipe shall be either Vitrified Clay Sewer Pipe to meet latest A.S.T.M.
Specifications C-13 or Reinforced Concrete Sewer Pipe to meet latest A.S.T
Specifications C-75
Pipe to be unloaded on job site at Twenty-third street and "C" Street
and place where specified by the Engineering Division of the City of Paducah.
Name of manufacturer of pipe and delivery date to be specified in
bid.
In the quantities shown above, pipe lengths are estimated at 4'. Bidders
are asked to specify length and type of pipe to be furnished. The city reserves
the right to reject unsuitable pipe after unloading at delivery site and such
rejected pipe must be removed and replaced with acceptable pipe by the bidder
at his own expense.
SECTION 2. The City Manager shall advertise for bids by a notice posted
up at the City Hall door and by inserting notice of the request for bids in
at least one issue of the Paducah Sun -Democrat. The notice shall be posted and
published at least seven days prior to the opening of bids and no bid shall be
opened within ten days from the date on which this resolution is adopted. No
bid shall be received unless under seal, nor shall any bid be received after the
hour fixed in the notice for the opening of bids. All bids received by the
City Manager up to the time fixed in the notice shall be filed with the Board
of Commissioners who may let the contract to the lowest responsible bidder.
The Board of Commissioners shall reserve the right to reject any and all bids
and the city shall not become legally obligated to purchase said sewer pipe
until the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the execution of a contract.

SECTION 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from
and after its adoption.
