McGRAW AND COMPANY AND TO THE CREW OF WORKMEN OF F. H. McGRAW AND COMPANY FOR THEIR PROMPT RESPONSE TO THE CALL FOR AID IN THE REMOVAL OF DEBRIS AND SEARCH FOR VICTIMS FOLLOWING THE EXPLOSION OF THE FRANK BUILDING AT SECOND AND BROADWAY IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, ON DECEMBER, 7, 1951 WHEREAS, An explosion occurred on December 7, 1951 in the Frank Building located at the corner of Second and Broadway in Paducah, Kentucky, and its great force and violence not only caused the total destruction of said building but two persons lost their lives and it was feared that other persons may have been trapped therein; and, WHEREAS, It was necessary to remove the debris with the greatest speed possible in the hope of saving the lives of any other persons who may have been trapped in said building; and WHEREAS, the officials of the Atomic Energy Commission and of the F. H. McGraw and Company immediately responded to the call of the city of Paducah for help and dispatched to the scene of said tragedy a highly efficient rescue team consisting of some twenty-five members of F. H. McGraw and Company; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; SECTION 1. That the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah express their thanks to the officials of the Atomic Energy and of F. H. McGraw and Company for their prompt response to the call for help by sending a crew of workmen to the scene of the explosion at the Frank Building at Second and Broadway in Paducah, Kentucky, on December 7, 1951, and that the rescue workers be especially thanked and commended for their wholehearted cooperation with the Fire Department and the efficient manner in which they worked in an effort to save the lives of any persons who may have been trapped in said building. SECTION 2. That a certified copy of this resolution be'transmitted to the local offices of the Atomic Energy Commission and F. H. McGraw and Company. SECTION 3.
