A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CONTRACT WITH 0. T. ALLEN FOR DEMOLITION AND REMOVAL
OF BUILDING AT 1125-1127 BURNETT STREET IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH
WHEREAS, the City Manager has heretofore been directed to advertise for bids
for the sale and removal of a building located on the fire station property at
1125-1127 Burnett Street in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, by resolution adopted
by the Board of Commissioners on August 28, 1951; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has heretofore advertised to sell said property as
directed by the aforesadd resolution, but has received no bids for the sale and
removal thereof; and
WHEREAS, it further appearing that the value of said building and the .
materials therefrom do not exceed the cost of demolition and removal of same and
that it is to the advantage of the City of Paducah to have said building demolished
and removed without further delay, and the former owner, 0. T. Allen, having
offered to demolish and remove the building from the premises thereon at no cost
to the City of Paducah in consideration of such material as he would obtain there-
from, and it appearing that said offer should be accepted.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF
PADUCAH, KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
contract with 0. T. Allen of the City of Paducah for the demolition and removal
of a certain duplex residence located pn the fire station property of the City of
Paducah at 1125-1127 Burnett Street in said City, said contract to provide that said
0. T. Allen will demolish and remove said building and outbuildings in connection
therewith from said premises, but said demolition and removal shall be at no expense,
to the City of Paducah and said 0. T. Allen shall retain as his consideration for
performing this service any and all materials obtained from said building and out-
buildings.
SECTION 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption.
