AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 54 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: "AN
ORDINANCE FIXING AND REGULATING THE LICENSE TAXES, MANNER AND FORM OF GRANTING
AND ISSUING SAME ON THE VARIOUS LINES OF BUSINESS, TRADES, OCCUPATIONS, PRO-
FESSIONS, VOCATIONS AND CALLINGS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PRO-
VIDING PENALTIES FOR NON-PAYMENT THEREOF, AND FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, AND

PROFESSIONS, VOCATIONS AND CALLINGS WITHOUT FIRST PAYING THE LICENSE TAX AND
PROCURING LICENSES AS PROVIDED HEREIN; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
THEREWITH, AND PROVIDING A SEPARABILITY CLAUSE", WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 23, 1947
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH,
KENTUCKY:
SECTION 1. That Section 54 of an ordinance containing the title quoted
above, which ordinance was adopted by the Board of Commissioners on December 23,
1947, be and the same is hereby repealed, amended and re -ordained so that said
section as amended and re -ordained shall read as follows:
"SECTION 54• Music machines, pin -ball machines and other amusement -
machines or devices. Any person pwning, renting or operating, at any time during
a calendar year, a music machine, pin -ball machine, or any other kind of amuse-
ment machinesor devices, not enumerated in or covered by other sections of this
ordinance, shall be licensed as amusement machine operators and shall pay an
annual license tax under Schedule F of Section $3, which shall not be pro -rated
for parts of a calendar year, except that the minimum annual license taxes shall
be as follows:
(a) $2.00 per machine or device costing less than five (5¢)
cents to operate.
(b) 310.00 per machine or device costing five (5¢) cents to
nine (9¢) cents to operate.
(c) $15,00 per machine or device costing ten (10¢) cents or
more to operate.
No pin -ball or other amusement machine or device shall be operated
within 500,feet of the grounds of a public or private school."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and
after January 1, 1952• /�
